Pip is told why concrete is not the best constructing media

Pip is constructing a pond of 15ft x 5ft x 4ft but needs to know what size liner she needs as well as the gallons that size would hold. Pip would prefer to use concrete if she can raise the extra cash!

The problem with using concrete to construct a pond is that it has to be treated or sealed to prevent chemicals leacking and severely altering water chemistry. Concrete is also prone to cracking so a liner will be needed eventually anyway.

The liner size you need is 24' x 14 and the volume of this pond at a rough estimate is 1875 gallon (8531.25 litres). If you have contours and marginal shelves it would be a good idea to attach a flow meter to your hose when filling the pond this will give a more accurate measurement.
