Rigid Plastic and Fibre Glass Koi Ponds

These types of pond liners come in a range of shapes and sizes but in my view the readily available ones from your local retailer are rarely deep enough for koi keeping. It is far better to have one made to measure by a local moulding or fabrication company and the cost can be the same as buying from a retailer. Some of these are more rigid than others so it may be wise to line the hole they are going into with block work.

Again in this case bottom drain or pressure feed systems can be used and the construction should be the same as a flexible pond liner. It would also be beneficial to make a concrete slab to cover the bottom of the hole before installation to add extra stability.

The advantage of this type of pond is that a soft sweeping brush can be used to clean the bottom and sidewalls of the pond to remove algae and dirt.
