T5 Tubes - Planta are available from Swell UK.

The new T5 fluorescent tubes are only 16 mm (⅝”) diameter and have many advantages in aquarium usage when compared with the more usual 26 mm (1“) diameter T8 tubes.

In the HO version they have a higher light output per unit length than T8 tubes and, if the correct electronic ballasts are used, a higher ratio of light output per watt of energy consumed. This increased efficiency, combined with the new range of phosphurs used to create the colours offered, makes T5 the preferred fluorescent lamp for all modern aquariums.

Planta: Planta is a growth lamp for plants in freshwater aquariums. The lamp accentuates the red and blue parts of the spectrum. These wave lengths stimulate photosynthesis and so create excellent condition for luxuriant plant growth.

In addition the colours in any fish with red pigmentations (e.g. Cardinal tetras) become more vibrant. Combined with Ocean White, Planta gives the aquarium a brilliant natural appearance.

In addition, when combined with Ocean White 10K they give the aquarium a most natural appearance.

Whilst for freshwater the combination of Ocean White with Planta will enhance plant growth.
