Red Sea Max S-650 Aquarium

The Red Sea Max S-650 Aquarium is the latest addition to the popular Red Sea Max range of complete marine aquarium kits. The Max S-650 is the current range-topper and holds a whopping 650 litres of water, making it one of the largest off-the-shelf marine aquarium kits on the market today.

The Red Sea Max S-650 series makes reef-keeping easier than ever before. This series brings together all of the systems and components required to support a thriving coral reef aquarium with even the most delicate corals, while maintaining an overall elegant and modern look.

The Red Sea Max S-650 series are defined by their open top, super clear glass aquarium and in-cabinet sump.

Full Coral Reef Spec lighting, filtration and circulation, and a centralised control panel and an integrated freshwater top-up system are all housed in a beautiful aquarium and cabinet.

The Aquarium:
The tank is made from 1.2cm of clear glass. The aquarium has a surface skimmer along the entire rear wall and a discreet rear chamber housing pumps and downpipe to the in-cabinet sump.

Lighting:
The lighting system consists of three individual lighting units. The identical front and rear four T5 units are hinged to the lighting chassis. The centre unit has an additional two T5 lights and 12 LED moonlights. The lighting control has two timers for staggered on/off.

Skimmers:
Built in surface skimmer on full width of aquarium, C-Skim protein skimmer 1800 / 800 LPH.

Filtration sump:
Glass sump with preparation for auxiliary reactors or refugium.

Filtration:
The reef filtration system starts with the surface skimmer that feeds water via a downpipe to the sump. The filtered water is returned to the tank by a main system pump that also supplies water to all of the filtration system, such as the protein skimmer and optional chiller.

Cabinet:
The aquarium is supported by a marine spec aluminium frame. The painted MDF panels aren't load bearing so they can be replaced at any time to allow a colour change.

One plug system
Like the other models in the Red Sea Max range, the S-650 includes an integrated power control centre and includes easy access to 10 switched power sockets for the pumps, heaters, skimmer, reactors and lighting. It runs from just a single plug.

Open-topped
The Max S-series aquariums are open-topped, which means Red Sea have been able to pack in upgradeable "reef spec" lighting via over-tank luminaires and there's less risk of the water surface getting too hot. There's a compartment beneath to house an optional chiller.

Integrated top-up system
To help keep the tank's evaporation losses topped-up with freshwater, maintaining the salinity and a constant stable level, there's an integrated automatic top-up system.

Customisable cabinet
The solid cabinet features a coloured trim which is resistant to salt water and comes in six different body colours. The trims and the cabinet colour can be customised in no fewer than 36 colour combinations, so you can change them to match your decor, or change them when you redecorate.
