Aqua Medic Turboflotor 5000 Shorty and Shorty Compact Powerful new skimmers for in cabinet installation.

From the successful Turboflotor 5000 series we have developed powerful these protein skimmers for cabinet installation.

They close the gap between the Turboflotor 1000 multi for aquaria up to 500 litre (150 gal) and the Turboflotor 5000 baby for aquaria from 1000 - 2000 litre 250 - 500 gal).

The Shorties are manufactured in 2 sizes to fit into most aquarium cabinets. Like the larger models, they are supplied with a venturi pump and our patented needle wheel. The water supply to the skimmer requires a second pump with a capacity of minimum 2000 l/h (500 gph). The skimmer may also be directly connected to the overflow of the aquarium. In this case it is recommended that a bypass be installed to control the water flow to the skimmer, especially if powerful return pumps are used.
