At about 8 ppm, Strontium is the fifth most abundant cation in seawater. Calcareous shell and structure of reef organisms are known to contain significant amount of strontium and is therefore absorbed during calcification and other biological pathways.

Marinium Reef Strontium is a concentrated solution that is used to maintain the proper level of strontium, ensuring an optimum water chemistry for the growth of hard corals, clams and calcareous tubeworms.

Good results are observed with the growth rate of hard corals like Acropora and Montipora and Tridacna clams. Besides, Molyddenum are added to promote healthy growth of nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria, enhancing biological filtration.
