Koi Ponds can be of any size or shape. This formal koi pond is square and 2m deep. It is partialy raised and looks well established with its planted back drop.
The filtration system is concealed under a false floor inside the purpose built gazebo at the back of the pond. An extra filter is positioned on the side of the pond to aid with mechanical filtration.
A stainless steel bridge spans the pond and makes a fantastic viewing area. The bridge also acts as a sun shade as the pond here gets sunlight all day long.
The pond is construction on a concrete base with 9" thick solid breeze block walls that have been rendered and sealed with G4 POND PAINT. The pond has a single bottom drain which feeds into the sunken mutli-chamber filter system, the pump is housed in a dry chamber adjacent to the pond. Water is fed back to the pond via two mid water returns.
This koi was constructed by Swell UK in 2001.
