T5 Tubes - Ocean White are available from Swell UK.
The new T5 fluorescent tubes are only 16 mm (⅝”) diameter and have many advantages in aquarium usage when compared with the more usual 26 mm (1“) diameter T8 tubes.
In the HO version they have a higher light output per unit length than T8 tubes and, if the correct electronic ballasts are used, a higher ratio of light output per watt of energy consumed. This increased efficiency, combined with the new range of phosphurs used to create the colours offered, makes T5 the preferred fluorescent lamp for all modern aquariums.
Ocean white 10.000ºK: Ocean White is a bright white lamp with a colour temperature of 10.000ºK.
The lamp simulates tropical sunlight and is the ideal basic illumination for marine as well as freshwater aquaria.
Ocean White enhances the natural colours of the fish and brings the brightness of tropical daylight into the aquarium, so plants and corals really thrive.
For saltwater aquariums, we recommend combining Ocean White with Ocean Blue actinic to increase the blue spectrum.
