A green-fingered author has revealed his kids love his garden pond.
Children love showing off to their friends about their parents' garden pond. This is according to author and freelance journalist Martyn Cox, who told the Waltham Forest Guardian he enjoys tending to his small yard.
Mr Cox, who regularly contributes to newspapers such as the Daily Mail, has compiled his experiences into a new book, Big Gardens in Small Spaces.
His outdoor space includes a garden pond, which is complemented by a winding path and a range of flora and fauna.
He uses windowsills and fences to cite his plants, while water butts are used to create garden watering solutions.
Mr Cox's garden is completed by some stylish wooden decking.
"My children love it, their friends generally don't have gardens like this one," he remarked. "Having a nice garden can improve the quality of your life significantly."
The expert has previously highlighted a number of flowers which could complement a garden pond, including a 'Teddy Bear' sunflower or the Cosmos 'Antiquity' plant.
