Koi carp owner 'heartbroken' after otter eats tropical fish

A Koi carp owner has spoken of his anguish after an urban otter ruthlessly ate his tropical fish.

A couple who hand-reared their Koi carp

Kevin Mann lost all 17 of his Koi carp

His wife Gillian explained that it appeared the otters made repeat trips to the water feature to collect the Koi carp

She said that the fish had been "part of the family" after being cared for more than 20 years.

Mr Mann remarked: "I never thought otters could be capable of such destruction and people have to realise that they aren't the cuddly, lovable creatures many think they are."

According to the International Otter Survival Fund, there have been numerous sightings of the creature in the UK this year, including numerous spots on the Isle of Skye.
