Pond pump choices require some thought

There are many pond pumps on the market and some issues to deal with when fitting one.
There are many different types of pond pumps available. Many people choose to have a waterfall pump or fountain pond pump, which has striking visual appeal and creates the relaxing sound of running water.
Traditional filter pumps are ideal for pond filters, helping to maintain good water quality by displacing course debris.
Eco-friendly people can also buy solar powered pond pumps, which removes the need to find a power source in the garden while cutting energy consumption.
For other pumps, an electrical outlet is needed.
When positioning pond pumps, it is vital to ensure the water can get through the filtration system.
If it is placed next to its outlet so the water leaves the pump and immediately re-enters it, large portions of the water might never be filtered and can even stagnate.
Fish keepers need to access the device to maintain it regularly and it is not recommended to lift it out by its electrical cables, so this should also be a consideration when fitting it.
