The beauty of theVorton is that instead of passing water straight past the UV light, it swirls the water around so more of the water comes in contact with the rays.

Overview:

The Vorton takes its name from the vortex of water it creates which swirls the water around the UV filter, meaning a better exposure to the UV rays.

Hozelock Vorton ultra violet clarifiers work by passing water past a UV light so the rays zap the algae with radiation and break down their DNA so they can't multiply. The UV is safe to humans and wildlife but deadly to algae!

After the algae has been exposed to the UV it clumps together (flocculates) so that it can be sieved out of the water by your filter - meaning no green water.

Please note:

It is advisable to change your UVC bulb regularly as its intensity naturally fades.
