Winter temperatures mean changes to when and what you feed your treasured Koi. The temperature must be controlled and a special diet is needed. Follow these simple steps to care for your Koi over the Winter months:
At temperatures less then 10 degrees celsius and over 5 degrees celsius
Do not feed normal pond foods. Your fish must be fed a rapidly digestable food such as Tetra, Nishikoi and Medikoi Wheatgerm
At temperatures below 5deg Celsius feeding should stop
Lower temperatures slows down digestion which means the food can rot in the stomach and cause bacterial problems for your fish
