What is Seachem Flourish Nitrogen?

Seachem Flourish Nitrogen is a nitrogen supplement designed for planted/aquascaped aquariums. It contains a concentrated blend (15,000 mg/L) of nitrogen from various sources, including nitrate and ammonium. These compounds are readily absorbed by aquatic plants that use them to grow.

A great thing about Seachem Flourish Nitrogen is that it contains no free ammonia, so it won't pollute your aquarium. It does contain ammonium, but this is a different compound that doesn't adversely affect the health of your aquarium's inhabitants like ammonia does.

Will my aquatic plants grow without Seachem Flourish Nitrogen?

Yes, your aquatic plants will grow without nutrient supplements like Seachem Flourish Nitrogen, but they won't grow half as quickly, nor look quite as lush and healthy. Over time, aquatic plants will use up all of the macro nutrients in your aquarium and cause a shortage. If this isn't remedied with a supplement, your aquatic plants may start to die off.

The three main macro nutrients required by aquatic plants are nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium. When used together, Seachem Flourish Nitrogen, Seachem Flourish Phosphorous, and Seachem Flourish Potassium will give your aquatic plants everything they need to thrive in your aquarium.

How do I use Seachem Flourish Nitrogen?

To dose Seachem Flourish Nitrogen, simply add 2.5ml (or half a cap) for every 160L water. It's recommended that you do this twice a week, or as needed in response to signs of nitrogen deficiency (e.g. stunted growth, chlorosis). Note, each cap thread is approximately 1ml.
