Sulphur/Hydrocarbonate Reactors
Sulphur reactors are used to remove nitrates, but as a by-product sulphuric acid is created which means a hydrocarbonate reactor is needed.
Sulphur and hydrocarbonate reactors should always be used in tandem. The sulphur reactors are filled with sulphur beads to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria that remove nitrates. Hydrocarbonate Reactors are then used to neutralise the resulting sulphuric acid.
