Help and advice on shopping for: Aquarium Cleaning Equipment

Ensure your aquarium is crystal clear

There are some jobs that a fish tank filter just won't do, and while filtration equipment removes the waste that congregates in your fish tank, you'll still need to do a little bit of cleaning by hand in order to maintain the quality of your aquarium. Our range of aquarium cleaning equipment is packed full of great products from leading brands like Aqua One, Fluval and JBL, to help you keep your tank clean.

What is aquarium cleaning equipment?

Aquarium equipment is all of the special brushes, scrubbers, scrapers and hardware needed to completely clean an aquarium. Each has been specially designed to deal with a bunch of regular aquarium cleaning takes, like washing gravel or removing grime on the glass walls of the aquarium.

Why should I buy aquarium cleaning equipment?

By combining aquarium cleaning equipment with a good filter and the right water treatments you can ensure that your tank always remains clear. A clean tank is less likely to harbour disease and will promote the health of your fish, helping them to grow and flourish.

What are the main types of aquarium cleaning equipment?

Our aquarium cleaning equipment range is made up of five types of products: algae magnets, algae pads, algae scapers, aquarium tools and gravel cleaners. Algae magnets are magnetic cleaners that stick to the wall of your tank via a magnet, allowing you to move them around without putting your hands in the aquarium. Algae pads are scrubbing pads that can be used to remove tough patches of algae. Algae scrapers are scraping brushes with long handles used to remove tough algae. Aquarium tools contain a wide range of assorted cleaning tools. Finally, gravel cleaners are like gentle vacuum cleaners designed to clean and return gravel to the bottom of your aquarium.

What should I look for?

Buying aquarium cleaning equipment requires a little trial and error. Every aquarium needs a different set of cleaning equipment but generally, you’ll find that as you build up your stock of the various pieces of equipment there will be less and less you need to buy. At first, we recommend buying a selection so you can trial different tools to discover which is best for you.
