Help and advice on shopping for: Aquarium Maintenance Tools
Everything you need to clean your tank
Every aquarist has to go through the process of assembling their cleaning kit. Sometimes this can be a difficult process as the specialist tools of the trade are hard to find but at Swell we have a wide range of tools to help you get off to a great start. Our aquarium tools range includes products from leading brands like Aqua One, JBL and Tropica.
What are aquarium tools?
Aquarium tools run from fairly standard items, like filter brushes or scrapers, to more specific tools of the trade like aquarium scissors and plastic plant cleaner. All of these tools have been purposely built for use by aquarists and are safe to use in an inhabited fish tank.
Why should I buy aquarium tools?
Many tools are unsuitable for use in a fish tank, they may give off toxic chemicals when placed in the water or rust over time. Aquarium tools have been purpose-built for aquatic use and so are safe to use in the water without harming any of your fish, plants or invertebrates.
What are the main types of aquarium tools?
We stock a wide variety of aquarium tools including filter brushes, scrapers, polish, water optimisers, waster removers, feeders, cleaning gloves, plastic plant cleaner, scissors and tweezers. Most of our products are self-evident, but they have all been treated for use in the water and are guaranteed to be safe for your tank.
What should I look for?
Try to list all of the maintenance tasks you’ll need to perform as you design your tank. Once you are confident that you have a comprehensive task list, you can make a list of the tools you’ll require for each task and what you’ll need to buy. By undergoing this exercise you should be able to ensure that you buy everything you need to manage your tank.
