Help and advice on shopping for: Aquarium Maintenance and Accessories

Easily forgotten extras

It’s hard to forget the big parts of your aquarium set up, like the tank, the filter and even the fish, but it’s much easier to miss those all-important little bits. Our maintenance and accessories range, featuring products from top brands like Oase, Evolution Aqua and JBL, is designed to help you with exactly that, ensuring that you have everything you need to get the most from your aquarium.

What are maintenance and accessories products?

Maintenance and accessories products cover a wide variety of product types, however, they are generally products used for specific tasks or to fix a specific problem. In this category, you will often find the miscellaneous items that will allow your hardware and aquarium as a whole to perform at its best.

Why should I buy maintenance and accessories products?

With the right combination of maintenance and accessories you can ensure that your tank is clean, that all your hardware is running well and that you are prepared for any eventuality that an Aquarist may have to face.

What are the main types of maintenance and accessories products?

Our maintenance and accessories range is broken into six groups of products; pipework & fittings, marine salt, spares, accessories, fish breeding & tank dividers and cleaning equipment. Pipework & fittings contain all of the plumbing used to connect your hardware to your aquarium and each other. Marine salt contains a mixture of chemicals that are used to recreate the naturally salty water of the sea. Spares are all the replacement parts needed to maintain the various pieces of aquarium hardware in your aquarium. Accessories are all the odd and miscellaneous items that add new functionality or improve upon your aquarium elements. Fish breeding & tank dividers contain equipment for fish breeding, specifically protecting fish from each other during the breeding process. Finally cleaning equipment is all the tools needed for regular tank maintenance.

What should I look for?

Every tank requires a different set of maintenance and accessories, more than any other category of product they tend to be the one that aquarists build up over time and will often reuse (cleaning in between tanks first). If you are just starting out in aquatics this is an area to invest in as you will always be rewarded for having extra maintenance and accessories supplies.
