Help and advice on shopping for: Pond Construction and Maintenance

The building blocks of pondkeeping

Pond building and keeping is as much a building project as it is an animal husbandry one. To help you create fantastic ponds and watercourses, we have a wide range of construction and maintenance tools, including products from Gordon Low, Oase and Hozelock.

What are construction and maintenance?

Construction and maintenance cover a wide range of pond products, but essentially they are all of the building materials used in pond creation and upkeep. Ponds often feature running water and chemicals that can erode unsuitable materials quickly so our construction and maintenance range feature only products that have been specially designed to withstand the challenges presented by pond environments.

Why should I buy pond construction and maintenance products?

If you want a pond you’ll need construction and maintenance products to build it and keep it looking its best. Most of our construction and maintenance products are relatively cheap and provide years of usage without wearing down or breakings - ideal for even the most long-term pond projects.

What are the main types of pond construction and maintenance products?

Our construction and maintenance range can be broken into five types of products; pond liners, pond kits, pond paint and sealant, pond vacs and maintenance and pipework and fittings. Pond liners include both liners and underlay that are used to create a leak-proof foundation for your pond. Pond kits contain all the building materials and hardware to build your own pond. Pond paint and sealant cover a wide range of paints and adhesives used to waterproof rendered ponds, fix hardware in place or close rips and tears. Pond vacs and maintenance include cleaning hardware and other building materials used for upkeep. Finally, pipework and fittings feature all the piping needed to connect your pond to other bodies of water and pond hardware.

What should I look for?

It’s important to consider what you’ll need and ensure that you have plenty of spares in case of breakage or wear and tear over time. We recommend thoroughly planning out your watercourse and listing everything you’ll need before making your purchases to ensure that each product you buy fills your needs and is right for your pond.
