Pond Pipework and Fittings
Help and advice on shopping for: Pond Pipework and Fittings
Create your ultimate watercourse
While pond hardware is capable of superb feats of filtration, aeration and water movement, it will only work if your pond water can reach it, that's where pipework and fittings come in. Our range of high-quality pipework and fittings, featuring brands like Oase and Yamitsu, are specially designed to deal with rapid water movement from your pond to hardware and reservoirs.
What are pipework fittings?
Pipework and fittings are various pieces of specially designed construction material that can withstand the constant flow of water, which will rust or wear down other types of tubing and piping over time. They are used to connect your pond to other pieces of hardware and reservoirs.
Why should I buy pipework and fittings?
Pipework and fittings are the only way to plumb in your hardware and reservoirs into the rest of your watercourse. They are extremely durable and relatively cheap, making them a great choice for any pondkeeper, whether or not they are on a budget.
What are the main types of pipework and fittings?
We stock seven types of pipework and fittings; flexible pipework & misc fittings, solvent PVC pipework, ball/slide valves, bottom drains, pressure pipe fittings, rubber fittings and tank and liner connectors. Flexible pipework & misc fittings are made up of bendable pieces of pipe or tubing and the various valves and fittings to hook them up. Solvent PVC is a more rigid, low-cost pipe system ideal for beginners. Ball/slide valves are simple valves used to control a water system. Bottom drains are drains that are installed within your pond bed. Pressure pipe fittings are designed to handle water under very high pressure. Rubber fittings are slightly flexible pipe fittings that are ideal for changing the flow of water under high pressure. Finally, tank and liner connectors are special outlets designed to be installed in the wall of your pond to connect it to your pipework and fittings.
What should I look for?
When buying any pipework and fittings the key is planning, design your watercourse carefully and map out every part you'll need, the pressure it will be under and the amount of water that will be passing through it. We also recommend investing in spare parts to ensure that if a piece breaks you can quickly repair it.
