What is the Swell Birdmouth Wrasse?
The Birdmouth Wrasse is named after its unusual mouth which resembles a beak and they feed on small crustaceans and fish. They are a semi aggressive species that will eat any fish that are smaller than it but are passive towards fish that are the same size or bigger than it but do not house it with any of the same or similar species as they can be territorial. This species will need a large aquarium with plenty of space to swim and lots of rocks to hide in and behind. The Bird Wrasse is best fed on a live food diet of inverts such as bristle worms, small crustaceans and snail but it would also be beneficial to feed them with some frozen food such as brine and mysis shrimp
