How does this CO2 Indicator Set work?

This CO2 Indicator Set, specifically the raindrop-shaped drop checker that comes as part of the set, sits inside your aquarium, and serves as a reservoir for an indicator fluid. This fluid changes colour depending on the amount of CO2 in your aquarium:

• Blue = not enough CO2
• Yellow = too much CO2
• Green = correct levels of CO2

This drop checker is very easy to install. First, invert your drop checker and fill the reservoir halfway up with the CO2 indicator fluid provided. Then, use the suction cup on the drop checker to attach it to an inside surface of your aquarium, making sure you place it the right way up (reservoir at the top).

There's typically a 12-hour delay as the indicator fluid reacts with the CO2 inside your aquarium. Based on your readings, adjust your CO2 bubble rate and wait a further 2 hours before you check your readings again. This indicator fluid should be replaced monthly to maintain accurate readings.
