What is the JBL ProFlora CO2 Valve?

The JBL ProFlora CO2 Valve is a silent solenoid valve for dosing CO2 supply in aquariums. Due to its low power input of 0.8 W, this valve is barely warm to the touch and operates with a 12 V safety transformer. The nighttime switch-off of the CO2 supply enables the solenoid to save up to 50% of CO2. Using this solenoid valve is easy as it can be either integrated into the CO2 supply hose of the fertiliser system or mounted directly on a pressure reducer.

The JBL ProFlora CO2 Valve is designed to control CO2 supply via a timer (not included). Using a timer with this valve means that you can set the CO2 supply to switch off in the evening when the supply is needed. It can also be used alongside a pH controller to dictate the CO2 supply according to the pH. This expertly made accessory has been designed to work with the JBL CO2 Range, but can work with any compatible pressure reducer.

What are the benefits of using a solenoid valve?

Plants require CO2 only during the photosynthesis phase, so you can turn off the CO2 supply at night. The JBL ProFlora CO2 Valve can be controlled by an additional timer, which saves you from turning on/off the CO2 bottle. The timer will then switch the light and the CO2 supply on via the solenoid valve in the morning and off again in the evening, recouping its cost price by saving the CO2 by half.
