What is the Katachi Kyu Globe Aquarium?

Why purchase this aquarium?

This globe-shaped polycarbonate aquarium is equipped with great features to get you started in a ‘ plug and play’ style.  The lighting system is unique as through the touch of a button, you can switch between white light ideal for plant growth, to any colour you desire. This can easily be lifted off when it is time to add food for your freshwater aquatic inhabitants.

There is an integrated trickle filter which removes waste both mechanically and biologically, while allowing oxygen to enter by rippling the surface when the water is returned to the tank.

What else do I need to purchase?

As all the filtration and lighting to get you started are included, you will only need to add a few extra products. If you want to keep tropical fish, you will need to buy a heater to create the ideal conditions, with approximately 1 watt per litre being required.

We would also recommend stocking up on substrate, decor and live or artificial plants to create a tank that you find aesthetically pleasing, as well as one which will stimulate your fish and make them feel at home. A tap water conditioner is also required to help make this a safe environment for aquatic stock to enter.

Do I have to use this as an aquarium?

The Katachi Kyu tanks are also excellent for creating a terrarium, which is a great low-maintenance alternative to an aquarium. The houseplant hobby is growing just as quickly as the aquatic hobby, so why not give this a try to add a slice of nature to your home?
