What are Seachem Tidal Filters?
Seachem Tidal Filters are designed from the ground up to provide your aquarium with high-quality, comprehensive filtration. They are easy to use and adaptable to a variety of aquarium conditions.
With a host of features including a self-priming pump, dual water intake with surface skimmer, adjustable flow, maintenance monitor, self-cleaning impeller, and a filter basket that holds any kind of filtration media, Tidal Filters are designed to deliver the highest water quality possible with maximum versatility and ease of use.
What are the key features of Seachem Tidal Filters?
All Seachem Tidal Filters boast the same quality features. These include:
Fully adjustable flow regulation
Fully adjustable flow regulation adjusts performance to a specific aquarium volume, type, or provide an environment for fish which prefer more or less water movement or oxygenation. Adjust using the dial on the front, for a powerful full flow rate of 1,700 litres per hour on the Tidal 110 down to a gentle 340 litres per hour on the same filter.
Surface skimmer
The surface skimmer will capture the water from just below the surface, where excreted fish oils accumulate, as well as deeper in the tank removing floating debris.
Adjustable intake flow
With Tidal's dual intake, it pulls water in through the telescoping pipe below the surface and at the surface through the surface skimmer. Easily adjust how much flow comes from the underwater intake pipe versus the surface skimmer with the intake flow dial. (Not available on Tidal 35 units).
Heater holder
A heater can be attached to the side with an optional heater clip, allowing for better dispersal of heated water through the aquarium. (Not available on Tidal 35 units).
Maintenance alert
Over time, filtration media can become clogged with detritus reducing or obstructing the flow of water through it. When this happens in Tidal Filters, water is redirected around the filter and back into the aquarium through an outlet on the side. The redirected water pushes up the blue maintenance alert on the top of the filter, signaling that the filter needs to be cleaned.
Self-priming pump
The self-priming pump means there's no need to fill the filter basket with water, start a siphon, monitor the filter, or any of the other headaches of starting a new filter. This also means that after a power outage, the filter will automatically restart itself.
