What is the Swell Tuxedo Urchin?
The Tuxedo Urchin is a very attractive and decorative addition to your marine aquarium. They are peaceful and reef safe and they will feed on the algae such as hair algae in your aquarium so are an excellent member of your clean up squad. The urchin will also pick items up on its head such as pebbles, coral frags, snails etc and will use these as camouflage, if your urchin has not picked up anything then this means that it is stressed or ill. While they are reef safe and will not harm or move any corals from the rocks it is always recommended to glue the corals to the rocks for added support and security. Due to the main part of their diet being algae you need to make sure that they are added into an already existing aquarium that has a steady supply of this algae but you need to make sure that this is not the only food available to them and you can supplement their diet with food such as slices of carrot, seaweed and spirulina.
