10 x Blue Orfe Leuciscus Idus Overview: The Blue Orfe, known scientifically as Leuciscus idus, is a vibrant and active freshwater fish. It's a popular choice among aquarists due to its striking blue coloration and dynamic swimming behavior. Blue Orfes are known for their elongated bodies and can grow quite large, making them a striking addition to suitable aquariums or outdoor ponds. Origin: Originally from Europe and parts of Asia, Blue Orfes inhabit cool, well-oxygenated rivers and lakes. They are accustomed to a temperate climate and thrive in environments that mimic their natural habitat. Feeding: Blue Orfes are omnivorous and have a varied diet. In captivity, they should be fed a mix of high-quality fish flakes or pellets, along with occasional live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. Their diet should also include vegetable matter, such as blanched spinach or zucchini. Tank Mates: Due to their size and swimming speed, Blue Orfes are best kept with other large, peaceful fish. Ideal tank mates include larger cyprinids, pond-compatible goldfish varieties, and robust species of barbs. It's important to avoid housing them with small, slow-moving, or aggressive fish. Aggression: Blue Orfes are generally peaceful but can be boisterous due to their size and activity level. They are not typically aggressive towards other fish, but their swift movements and size can intimidate smaller or more timid species. Experience Level: Suitable for intermediate to advanced aquarists. Their requirement for larger tanks or ponds and specific water conditions makes them less ideal for beginners. Water Parameters:
