10 x Goldfish Black Carassius Auratus Overview: The Goldfish Black Carassius Auratus, commonly known as Black Goldfish, is a captivating freshwater fish known for its distinct, deep black coloration and elegant swimming style. This variety of goldfish is a popular choice for both novice and experienced aquarists due to its hardy nature and stunning appearance. Origin: Originally bred in China, the Black Goldfish is a result of selective breeding practices aimed at enhancing its unique color and finnage. It is a variant of the common goldfish and shares many of the same characteristics and care requirements. Feeding: Black Goldfish are omnivorous and thrive on a balanced diet. They should be fed high-quality goldfish pellets or flakes, supplemented with fresh vegetables like peas and spinach, and occasional protein-rich treats like brine shrimp or bloodworms. Overfeeding should be avoided as it can lead to health issues and water quality problems. Tank Mates: When choosing tank mates, opt for peaceful and similarly sized fish to avoid competition and aggression. Suitable companions include other varieties of fancy goldfish, small barbs, and certain types of danios. Avoid housing them with aggressive or fin-nipping species. Aggression: Black Goldfish are generally peaceful and sociable creatures. They enjoy the company of their own kind and are rarely aggressive towards other fish. However, care should be taken to ensure all fish in the tank have enough space and resources to prevent stress and territorial behavior. Experience Level: This variety is well-suited for both beginners and advanced aquarists. Their hardiness and adaptability make them an excellent choice for those new to fishkeeping, while their unique appearance and behavior offer a rewarding experience for more experienced hobbyists. Water Parameters:- Temperature: 65°F to 75°F (18°C to 24°C)
- pH: 6.5 to 7.5
- Water Hardness: 5 to 19 dGH Regular water changes and a well-maintained filtration system are essential to keep the water clean and suitable for the Black Goldfish. They produce a significant amount of waste, so a larger tank with ample filtration is recommended to maintain optimal water quality.
