10 x Rudd Scardinius Erythrophthalmus Overview: The Rudd is a captivating and vibrant freshwater fish, known for its shimmering scales and peaceful demeanor. It typically grows to a length of about 15-25 cm (6-10 inches), showcasing a beautiful blend of golden and reddish hues, especially noticeable around its fins and eyes. Origin: Native to Europe and parts of Asia, Rudds thrive in slow-moving or still waters such as ponds, lakes, and calm rivers. They have also been introduced to other regions worldwide. Feeding: Rudds are omnivorous and not particularly fussy eaters. They enjoy a varied diet that includes both plant and animal matter. In the aquarium, they readily accept flakes, pellets, live or frozen foods such as daphnia, bloodworms, and brine shrimp, as well as vegetables like peas and zucchini. Tank Mates: Rudds are generally peaceful and get along well with other non-aggressive fish of similar size. Ideal tank mates include other cyprinids, such as roach or bream, as well as some species of carp, tench, and larger tetras. Avoid housing them with small, timid fish or aggressive species. Aggression: This species exhibits low levels of aggression and is known for its tranquil nature. They are schooling fish and prefer to be in groups, which helps reduce stress and promotes natural behavior. Experience Level: Rudds are suitable for both beginners and experienced aquarists. They are hardy and adaptable, making them a great choice for those new to fish keeping. Water Parameters:
