African Carp Shark Labeo Coubie 10cm "Meet the African Carp Shark, also known as Labeo coubie, a captivating species sought after by aquarists for its striking appearance and lively demeanor. Originating from the rivers and streams of West Africa, this species boasts a sleek body adorned with distinct black and red markings, resembling the formidable shark but with a gentle disposition. Feeding this species is a delight, as they eagerly accept a varied diet comprising high-quality pellets, flakes, and occasional live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp. Their omnivorous nature allows for easy maintenance and a range of feeding options. In a community tank, the African Carp Shark thrives among similarly sized, peaceful species. They display minimal aggression towards tank mates, preferring the company of their own kind or other non-aggressive species that occupy different tank levels. With a moderate experience level required for their care, enthusiasts with some prior aquarium knowledge will appreciate these fish. Ensuring suitable water parameters—such as a pH of 6.5-7.5, temperature around 72-78°F (22-26°C), and ample space in a tank of at least 75 gallons—supports their well-being and vibrant behavior.
