Originating from the streams of southern India, these vibrant, torpedo-shaped beauties boast stunning golden-red hues set against a pearly albino base. Their active nature and graceful movement make them a captivating sight in a well-maintained tank. Feeding these Denison Barbs is a breeze—they eagerly accept high-quality flakes, pellets, and live/frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp, ensuring a balanced diet for their optimal health. Their peaceful temperament makes them great tank mates for similarly sized, non-aggressive species like tetras, rasboras, and peaceful bottom dwellers. However, due to their active nature, it's advisable to provide plenty of swimming space. These barbs are relatively peaceful but may exhibit minor territorial behaviors, especially during breeding times. Novice to intermediate aquarists will enjoy keeping these captivating fish, provided water conditions are adequately maintained. Maintaining stable water parameters within a temperature range of 72-79°F (22-26°C), a pH of 6.5-7.5, and moderate water flow will ensure their well-being and vibrant colors.
