Overview
The Araguaia Cory is a peaceful and visually striking Corydoras species, featuring a silvery body with a subtle dark lateral stripe and elegant fins. Active, social, and hardy, it makes an excellent addition to community aquariums and planted setups.
Origin
Native to the Araguaia River basin in Brazil, inhabiting slow-moving waters with sandy or fine gravel substrates and abundant leaf litter or vegetation.
Feeding
Omnivorous and easy to feed:
-
Sinking Cory pellets and wafers
-
Frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia
-
Occasional live foods for conditioning

Small tetras, rasboras, and pencilfish
-
Rainbowfish and small livebearers
-
Dwarf cichlids (e.g., Apistogramma, Rams)

Avoid: Aggressive or large fish that may stress or outcompete them.
