Arrow Grouper – Belnoperca chabanaudi

Overview:
The Arrow Grouper is a striking predatory fish, named for its streamlined body and arrow-like markings along its flanks. Its bold patterns and predatory behavior make it a captivating centerpiece in large marine aquariums.

Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, typically found around coral reefs and rocky outcrops from East Africa to the central Pacific.

Feeding:
Carnivorous – thrives on a diet of meaty foods such as shrimp, fish, squid, and other protein-rich marine preparations. Regular feeding of varied foods ensures healthy growth and vibrant coloration.

Tank Mates:
Best kept with large, robust tank mates. Smaller fish and ornamental invertebrates may be eaten.

Aggression:
Territorial and predatory – requires ample swimming space and rockwork for hiding and hunting.

Experience Level:
Advanced aquarists – suited for experienced keepers of large predatory marine species with a mature, stable aquarium setup.

• pH: 8.1–8.4

• Salinity: 1.020–1.025

• Minimum Tank Size: 250+ gallons
