Overview

Assorted Cyprichromis are small to medium-sized Tanganyikan cichlids celebrated for their vivid colors, slender bodies, and energetic schooling behavior. They are mouthbrooders, highly active, and add striking movement and color to African cichlid aquariums.

Origin

Lake Tanganyika, East Africa

Feeding

• Omnivorous: accepts high-quality flakes, pellets, and occasional frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp or daphnia

• Primarily a protein-based diet

Tank Mates

• Best kept with other peaceful or semi-aggressive Tanganyikan cichlids

• Avoid slow-moving or delicate species

Aggression

• Generally peaceful but males may show territorial behavior during breeding

• Schooling reduces aggression and stress

Experience Level

Intermediate – requires stable water parameters and proper tank setup
