Assorted L-Number Pleco (Loricariidae spp.)

Overview

Assorted L-Number Plecos include a variety of sought-after pleco species identified by their official L-numbers. These catfish are prized for their unique patterns, colours, and body shapes, ranging from boldly spotted to finely striped varieties. They make excellent feature fish for well-maintained freshwater aquariums.

Origin

South America – primarily the Amazon, Orinoco, and surrounding river systems

Feeding

• Omnivorous with a strong preference for sinking foods

• Offer algae wafers, sinking pellets, blanched vegetables, and occasional frozen foods

• Some species benefit from driftwood in the diet

Tank Mates

• Suitable with peaceful to semi-aggressive community fish

• Avoid housing with very aggressive cichlids or fin-nippers

• Best kept with other bottom dwellers only if adequate space and hiding spots are provided

Aggression

• Generally peaceful

• May be territorial toward other plecos, especially in smaller tanks
