Assorted Paradise Fish (Macropodus species)

Overview

Assorted Paradise Fish are colorful, hardy freshwater fish prized for their vibrant coloration, flowing fins, and bold personalities. Available in a variety of color forms and strains, paradise fish are an excellent choice for aquarists looking for a striking centerpiece fish with classic labyrinth fish behavior.

Origin

Southeast Asia – China, Vietnam, Laos, and surrounding regions

Feeding

• Omnivorous

• Accepts quality flakes, pellets, frozen foods, and live foods such as bloodworms and brine shrimp

• Benefits from a varied diet to maintain coloration and health

Tank Mates

• Best kept with robust, fast-moving tank mates

• Avoid slow-fin fish or other aggressive labyrinth species

• Can be kept singly or as a compatible pair in spacious tanks

Aggression

• Semi-aggressive, especially males

• Territorial behavior may increase during breeding
