Overview

The Albino Stuartgranti Peacock is a stunning African cichlid from Lake Malawi, celebrated for its bright yellow-white body, subtle pink hues, and striking blue eye accents. Peaceful compared to other Mbuna species, it is ideal as a colorful centerpiece in Malawi African cichlid setups.

Origin

Endemic to Lake Malawi, East Africa. Prefers rocky habitats with sandy patches and moderate water movement.

Feeding

Omnivorous, with a preference for protein-rich foods:

• High-quality cichlid pellets or flakes

• Frozen foods like brine shrimp, mysis, or krill

• Occasional live foods

• Avoid excessive plant-based foods, as they are primarily carnivorous/omnivorous

Tank Mates

Semi-aggressive but peaceful compared to rock-dwelling Mbuna. Compatible with:

• Other Peacock cichlids (Aulonocara spp.)

• Non-aggressive Haplochromine cichlids

• Avoid overly aggressive Mbuna or very small fish

Aggression

Low to moderate. Territorial during breeding; males display vivid coloration to attract females.

Experience Level

Intermediate. Hardy but requires stable water conditions, proper diet, and adequate space to thrive.

• Temperature: 76–82°F (24–28°C)

• pH: 7.8–8.6

• Hardness: 10–20 dGH

• Notes: Provide a rocky setup with sandy patches and caves. Regular water changes help maintain coloration and health.
