The Black Back Butterfly Fish is a striking reef species with a silver-white body, bright yellow fins, and a bold black patch covering the upper back and dorsal area. Its contrasting colors and elegant swimming make it a standout addition to large marine aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, including Fiji, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Feeding:
Omnivorous – in the wild it feeds on coral polyps, small invertebrates, and algae. In captivity, it accepts a varied diet of frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, sponge-based foods, and high-quality marine pellets.

Best kept with peaceful community fish. Not considered reef safe due to its tendency to nip at corals.
