They can grow up to 10 inches in length, showcasing a blend of black, white, and yellow hues that add a splash of color to any aquarium. Origin: Native to the tropical waters of the Pacific and Indian Oceans, the Black Boxfish prefers the coral-rich environments of lagoons and outer reefs. Their natural habitat contributes to their resilience and requirements in a captive setting. Feeding: Black Boxfish are omnivores, requiring a varied diet to maintain their health and coloration. A mix of meaty foods, such as shrimp, squid, and clams, along with marine algae and high-quality pellets or flakes, will ensure they receive all necessary nutrients. Tank Mates: Choosing the right tank mates is crucial, as the Black Boxfish can release toxins when stressed or threatened. Ideal companions include other peaceful to semi-aggressive marine species that are not small enough to be considered prey. Avoid housing them with aggressive species that may provoke them.
