Black Lancer Catfish Bagrichthys Macracanthus 5cm Overview: The Black Lancer Catfish, renowned for its sleek ebony body and elongated fins, captivates aquarists with its striking appearance. With its peaceful demeanor and unique profile, it adds an elegant touch to any freshwater aquarium. Origin: Originating from Southeast Asia, these catfish inhabit slow-moving rivers and tributaries, preferring well-oxygenated waters. Feeding: Omnivorous by nature, Black Lancer Catfish thrive on a diet comprising sinking pellets, frozen foods, and live or frozen bloodworms. They relish scavenging for leftover food, contributing to tank cleanliness. Tank Mates: Known for their non-aggressive nature, they make excellent companions for peaceful community tanks. Ideal tank mates include similarly sized fish such as tetras, rasboras, and peaceful cichlids. Aggression: Black Lancer Catfish are docile and pose minimal aggression, making them suitable for community setups. Experience Level: Recommended for aquarists with moderate experience due to their specific dietary needs and water quality requirements. Water Parameters: Optimal conditions include a pH range of 6.5 to 7.5, water temperature between 72°F to 78°F (22°C to 26°C), and a well-filtered tank with moderate to strong water movement.
