Origin: Originating from the Nile River in Africa, these catfish are accustomed to riverine environments with moderate to fast-flowing waters. Feeding: Black Nile Catfish are omnivorous and readily accept a varied diet, including sinking pellets, live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, and occasional meaty treats like shrimp or mussels. Tank Mates: Best kept with similarly-sized, non-aggressive tank mates. Compatible species include larger tetras, barbs, larger cichlids, and peaceful bottom dwellers like loaches or larger plecos. Aggression: Generally peaceful but may exhibit territorial behavior, especially when housed with smaller tank mates. Provide ample hiding spots and space to reduce potential conflicts.
