Blue Arowana Osteoglossum Ferrari 20cm "Meet the majestic Blue Arowana (Osteoglossum Ferreirai), a coveted gem of freshwater aquariums. Originating from the depths of South America’s Amazon River basin, this stunning species boasts iridescent scales that shimmer with hues of sapphire and silver, captivating all who behold it. Feeding these magnificent creatures is a delight as they relish a diet comprising live food like insects, small fish, and occasionally, pellets or freeze-dried options to supplement their nutrition. Known for their regal bearing, Blue Arowanas are best kept with tank mates of similar size and temperament to prevent conflicts. Due to their solitary nature, it’s advisable to house them individually or with larger, non-aggressive species in generously sized tanks to accommodate their substantial growth, typically reaching over three feet in length. While possessing a remarkable elegance, Blue Arowanas can display territorial behavior and may exhibit aggression toward their own kind or smaller tank mates. Thus, their care requires a moderate to advanced level of experience in maintaining large, intricate aquatic environments. Maintaining pristine water quality is essential for their well-being. Aim for a pH range of 6.5-7.5, a temperature between 75-82°F (24-28°C), and provide ample space for swimming along with high-quality filtration to simulate their natural habitat.
