Blue Cheek Goby Valenciennea Strigata The Blue Cheek Goby, scientifically known as Valenciennea strigata, is a captivating marine fish native to the Indian Ocean and western Pacific Ocean. This species can grow up to 18 centimeters in length and is known for its distinct appearance, with vibrant blue cheeks that contrast beautifully with its yellowish-brown body. The Blue Cheek Goby is a carnivorous fish that enjoys sifting through sand and excavating burrows underneath coral bases or rocks. It is considered an intermediate-level fish to care for, requiring a secure aquarium setup with plenty of hiding spots. In terms of tank mates, the Blue Cheek Goby is generally peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive fish species. However, it may become territorial towards other gobies or small crustaceans. To ensure the optimal care of a Blue Cheek Goby, the aquarium should maintain a medium level of lighting and provide a suitable depth of sand for the fish to burrow in. 1235 The water parameters should be within the typical range for a marine aquarium, with a pH between 8.1 and 8.4, a temperature between 72-82°F, and a specific gravity of 1.020-1.025.Above images for illustration purposes only.
