Corydoras Burgessi 4cm Catfish Overview: The Corydoras Burgessi, often referred to as Burgess' Cory, is a small and captivating freshwater catfish, cherished for its peaceful nature and unique appearance. This species typically grows up to 2.5 inches in length, showcasing a charming pattern of black and white stripes along its body, which can vary slightly between individuals. They are a favorite among aquarists for their bottom-dwelling behavior and their role in keeping the substrate clean. Origin: Native to South America, specifically the tributaries of the Amazon River, Corydoras Burgessi thrives in soft, acidic water conditions. They are often found in shallow, slow-moving waters, where they enjoy the cover of dense vegetation and a sandy substrate. Feeding: Corydoras Burgessi are omnivorous and not particularly fussy eaters. Their diet should include a mix of high-quality sinking pellets or wafers, supplemented with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, or daphnia. It's important to ensure food reaches the bottom of the tank, as they are bottom feeders. Tank Mates: These Corydoras are known for their peaceful temperament and can be housed with a variety of other non-aggressive fish. Ideal tank mates include small tetras, rasboras, and other peaceful community fish. They are shoaling fish and should be kept in groups of at least five or six for their wellbeing. Aggression: Burgess' Cory is a notably peaceful and non-aggressive species. They do not exhibit territorial behavior and are often seen actively scavenging the bottom of the tank in a group. Experience Level: This species is well-suited for both beginners and experienced aquarists. They are hardy and adaptable, but their requirement for clean, well-oxygenated water and a varied diet should be met. Water Parameters:- Temperature: 72-79°F (22-26°C)
- pH: 6.0-7.5
- Hardness: 2-12 dGH
- Water quality should be maintained with regular water changes and efficient filtration.
