Carlson Anthias – Pseudanthias carlsoni
Overview:
The Carlson Anthias is a vibrant and elegant marine fish, showcasing rich pink to orange hues with subtle iridescent highlights. Known for their active, mid-water schooling behavior, they are a dynamic and colorful addition to reef aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, typically found around deep coral reefs and drop-offs, including areas like Indonesia and the Philippines.
Feeding:
Planktivorous – feeds on zooplankton and small live or frozen foods. In captivity, provide frequent feedings of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other planktonic foods.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful community fish. Ideal companions include other anthias, reef-safe species, and mid-water schooling fish.
Aggression:
Non-aggressive – thrives in groups of 6 or more, displaying natural schooling behavior.
Experience Level:
Intermediate to advanced – requires a well-established aquarium with stable water conditions and frequent feeding.
