Catalina Goby (Lythrypnus dalli)
Overview:
The Catalina Goby is a small, peaceful marine goby known for its vibrant orange body and subtle blue accents. Active and visually striking, it is ideal for reef and nano aquariums, bringing both color and charm to the tank.
Origin:
Native to the Eastern Pacific, including the coast of California and Baja California, typically inhabiting rocky reefs and sandy substrates.
Feeding:
Carnivorous. Feeds on small crustaceans, copepods, and other microfauna. In captivity, accepts finely chopped seafood, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and high-quality flake or pellet foods.
Tank Mates:
Peaceful and reef-safe. Compatible with small, non-aggressive fish and invertebrates. Avoid large, aggressive species that may outcompete or stress it.
Aggression:
Non-aggressive and shy; may retreat into crevices when threatened.
Experience Level:
Beginner to intermediate. Hardy and adaptable, suitable for established tanks with plenty of hiding places and stable water parameters.
