Chocolate Cichlid Hypselecara Temporalis 5cm Overview: The Chocolate Cichlid, with its mesmerizing hues ranging from deep browns to vibrant yellows, adds a touch of elegance and warmth to any aquarium. These peaceful giants, reaching up to 8 inches in length, are known for their gentle demeanor and striking appearance. Origin: Native to the soft, acidic waters of the Amazon River basin in South America, the Chocolate Cichlid thrives in environments that mimic their natural habitat, rich in tannins and hidden spots. Feeding: Omnivorous by nature, Chocolate Cichlids appreciate a varied diet. Offer a mix of high-quality cichlid pellets, frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and occasional vegetable matter to ensure optimal health and coloration. Tank Mates: While generally peaceful, their size demands respect. Suitable tank mates include other similarly sized South American cichlids, larger tetras, and robust catfish. Avoid overly aggressive species or very small fish that might be seen as prey. Aggression: Typically peaceful, Chocolate Cichlids may show territorial behavior during breeding. Providing ample space and hiding spots can mitigate most aggressive tendencies. Experience Level: Intermediate. While not overly demanding, maintaining the soft, acidic water conditions they prefer requires some experience with aquarium chemistry and care. Water Parameters:

• pH: 5.0 - 7.0
• Hardness: Soft to moderately hard
• Water Change: Regular, to maintain water quality and mimic natural habitat conditions.

Ensure your tank is spacious, ideally 55 gallons or larger, with plenty of hiding spots among driftwood and plants to mimic their natural environment and keep these majestic fish healthy and content.
