Diamond Anthias – Pseudanthias parvirostris
Overview:
The Diamond Anthias is a vibrant and elegant marine fish, featuring a bright pink to reddish-orange body with subtle diamond-like iridescent highlights. Highly active and social, they bring color and movement to mid-water areas of reef aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, commonly found around coral reefs and drop-offs in areas such as Indonesia, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea.
Feeding:
Planktivorous – feeds on zooplankton and small live or frozen foods. In captivity, provide frequent feedings of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other planktonic foods.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful community fish. Compatible with other anthias, reef-safe species, and mid-water schooling fish.
Aggression:
Non-aggressive – thrives in groups of 6 or more, displaying natural schooling behavior.
Experience Level:
Intermediate to advanced – requires a well-established aquarium with stable water parameters and regular feeding.
