Its natural habitat influences its preferred tank conditions. Feeding These omnivorous beauties delight in a varied diet comprising high-quality flakes, pellets, and supplemented with live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp. Their diverse palate ensures they thrive and display their full spectrum of colors. Tank Mates Given their peaceful nature, the Distichodus Decemmaculatus thrives in community tanks. Ideal tank mates include similarly peaceful species such as larger tetras, barbs, and peaceful cichlids. Avoid pairing them with fin-nipping or aggressive fish to maintain their tranquility. Aggression While generally peaceful, juveniles might exhibit some territorial behavior. However, as they mature, they tend to become more accommodating, especially when housed in a spacious tank with suitable tank mates. Experience Level Suitable for intermediate to experienced aquarists, providing a well-maintained environment with stable water parameters and understanding their social behaviors will ensure their optimal health and happiness.
