Origin: Native to the rivers of Central Africa, specifically the Congo Basin, these fish thrive in slow-moving waters rich in vegetation. They appreciate a well-planted aquarium that mimics their natural habitat, offering ample swimming space. Feeding: Omnivorous by nature, the Distichodus Noboli enjoys a varied diet consisting of high-quality flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods such as bloodworms and brine shrimp. Adding vegetables like blanched zucchini or spinach can also supplement their nutritional needs. Tank Mates: These fish prefer the company of their own species or other large, peaceful fish with similar temperaments. Avoid pairing them with smaller, more timid species as the Distichodus Noboli might intimidate them due to their size. Aggression: While generally peaceful, the Distichodus Noboli can display territorial behavior, especially among their own kind. Providing ample hiding spots and space can help mitigate any potential aggression. Experience Level: Intermediate to advanced aquarists are best suited for keeping the Distichodus Noboli. Their size and specific habitat requirements demand a good understanding of water parameters and tank maintenance.
